What’s the chance that people will read your article if you’ve already known the problem or conversation they have in their mind? What if you can offer solutions that are exactly the answers to their problem? I’ll show you how to do it in this article.

Unless you’re living in the cage for the last few years, you should have heard about social media. In layman terms, it simply means media that involve interaction or multiple way of communication among a group of people.

This is different from traditional media which focus on broadcast, i.e. content producers send content to the audience in their own terms. In social media, anyone can be content producer and anyone can participate.

What does it have to do with your business? A lot. You can take advantage of this trend and reduce the cost of reaching your target audience. Nowadays, you can go where your audience gather and chat with them without any cost.

Often just by monitoring what they’re discussing about reveals a lot of information about what they want to know or their problems. This is certainly one way to do it.

If you have a list of prospects of e-newsletter subscribers, you could also send email to the list asking specifically what is the biggest question they have in mind about something. These subscribers are also your potential readers so asking them what they want to know is the right approach.

Being able to know upfront whey they want to read or buy — the latter if you want to create a product — is very powerful. It almost guarantees that you will get readers or customers once the article or product is ready.

Go where the crowd go, and that could mean social networking sites, blogs (your own or other people’s), forums, membership club, and others. Be creative, some of these community sites are available for free.
