It goes without saying that the first thing you should do with a new dog is house training. Ideally, you want a dog to be house trained as quickly as possible so that you can trust it to be in the house with you and the family. If your dog is kept outside or in a certain area, then bonding is going to be a much slower process.

First of all, there are likely to be accidents when house training a dog which often cannot be avoided. Never punish your dog for these accidents, as that will only make your dog wary of your and going to the toilet around you rather than teaching it not to go inside.

There has been a lot of publicity in the last few years and even recently about dogs being left in hot overheating cars in the hot summers, by now most people know that hot cars are a real danger for dogs but there are still some of you out there that don’t seem to take the situation serious enough, or don’t realize how quickly the situation can change.

Every year dogs die because they are trapped in a heated car while their owners go into a shop, store, or any other situation when the dog will be left for long periods of time.
