When you hear the term “Hydrogen Generator conversion” it sounds like some huge undertaking where a cars engine is removed and replaced with a Hydrogen generator. Other misleading phrases being used for marketing hydrogen generators are “water for fuel” and “run your car on water”. Cars that run on water alone are still on the drawing board. What is meant by a phrase like “running your car on water” is that water can supply a small quantity of supplemental hydrogen to your engine that is supposed to improve gas mileage significantly.

How does it work?

By using electricity from your cars battery, a hydrogen generator passes the electric current through a distilled water and baking soda mixture that is held in a container under the hood of your car. It then produces hydrogen and oxygen bubbles also called HHO gas. Make sense to you? It really makes sense to me.

Dennis Klein of Clearwater, FL has a company that makes a Hydrogen generator unit that is being used to power a Ford Escort. This is full blown unit that will barely fit in the trunk. Not very practical

I have seen one of these big hydrogen generators first hand. A little old man in a wheelchair has been using one to make jewelry at practically every AWS welding expo for the past 3 years. The way he makes his art is by using a hydrogen torch that is totally powered by one of these generators. So I know the process works well enough to power a torch.

The kind of hydrogen conversion kit that I am referring to is a much smaller and simpler device that can be built by anyone.
